THERAPY
From surviving ... to thriving
When painful life events or ongoing difficulties leave you feeling adrift without anchor or direction, trying to envisage a point in time when your day-to-day existence isn’t shaped by overwhelm, anguish, or despair can feel nigh on impossible - let alone imagining getting to the stage when you are truly living life again.
But it’s important for you to know that there is hope. The fact that you're considering therapy shows you have the capacity to take a proactive and practical approach to addressing your difficulties. This, in itself, increases the likelihood that - with appropriate support - you can begin to alleviate your distress and work towards creating a more fulfilling life.

My Therapeutic Approach
MY PRACTICE IS WARM, PROFESSIONAL AND SAFE
I provide a calm, accepting and confidential therapeutic relationship where you can express your thoughts and feelings without fear of disparagement or censure. My practice is warm, professional and safe. I listen deeply, gently and perceptively to your story and to your difficulties - with interest, empathy and care.
GETTING TO THE ROOT OF YOUR STRUGGLES
My fundamental mission in our therapeutic work together is to explore and make sense of what lies behind your current difficulties - to open up the possibilities for change. Together, we will reflect upon what has brought you to therapy - identifying and addressing the issues that are causing you pain or holding you back, whilst we work collaboratively to formulate a way forward that feels right to you.
A PLACE TO BE SEEN AND UNDERSTOOD
I’m a big believer in emotional safety - I don’t push you to talk about things you're not ready to talk about. Instead, I'll be there to guide you towards discovering what feels comfortable for you to share – at a pace and depth set by you.
A JOURNEY OF GROWTH AND SELF-DISCOVERY
I'm experienced in successfully working with a wide range of psychological issues. My areas of special clinical interest include: anxiety, self-worth, relationship issues, family difficulties, life transitions, workplace stress (including burnout), and living with chronic illnesses (e.g. ME/CFS and Long Covid).

Integrative Therapy
Can Help
The word 'integrative' means combining two or more things to make something more successful. When applied to the practice of psychotherapy, it simply means I draw from a range of approaches and adapt how I work to suit your needs.

For instance, when you are curious about how past experiences might be contributing to your present challenges, I'll help you gently reflect on unconscious patterns which may no longer be serving you. This therapeutic process can help you revise long-held beliefs about yourself, others, and the world around you - and free you up to experiment with new ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world.
Although most of the time, we'll likely be doing 'talking therapy', breathing exercises can be incorporated to help restore balance, while dream analysis, or guided visualisation help shed additional light on deeper psychological issues that can be harder to articulate. That said, you are in the 'driving seat' and there is no expectation from me that we work in a certain way. The most important thing is that you find a therapist who you feel supported by, feel comfortable with and can relate to.
